Michael's Name Destined For Mars

Also in honor of Michael Biehn's 45th Birthday, we have managed to get his name included on a disc that will be on the next Mars Exploration Rover 2003 mission. The mission will be to explore Mars for past geological evidence of the existence of water on the surface of the planet. Michael's name will be along for the ride on one of these very important missions, along with many other names from the planet Earth.

In late May and early June of 2003, two separate Mars Rovers will be launched on the 7 1/2 month journey to the surface of Mars. The first Rover is expected to land on the Mars on January 2, 2004, and the second one on January 20, 2004. The Rovers will carry all instrumentation with them and be able to venture up to 100 meters/day across the Martian surface. Their life expectancy is to be at least 90 Martian days. The twin Rovers will be used to help scientists study both the climate and the water history of Mars in two different landing locations.
